The Database for Joomla! Extensible ENgine is a Research Information Management System (RIMS) - an advanced LIMS. Its structure is not modeled around a single data type, but around laboratory experimentation workflows. It allows to manage multiples data types with a simple and unique system, as well as annotating and sharing data with other collaborators.
Focus has been placed on a user-friendly interface and rapid and intuitive annotation of samples and files.
Djeen is a Joomla! version 1.5 component. The version 1.5.1 is the latest, available from the download page. See installation documentation here.
Major features
- Projects are organized within a hierarchy - project > subprojects - similar to a directory organization.
- It is possible to use Templates to control and standardize annotations to follow Minimum Information standards.
- The History feature allows to make a snapshots and backup of whole project (for publication).
- Heterogeneous data types are inherently supported.
- Data is securely stored through protected access (users and group permissions). Files are stored in plain filesystem (simple to backup).
- Support of MySQL and Postgres databases.
